Male Roles :
The ambitions of an Aztec man was to solely to participate in war, take a few captives and increase his reputation through his youth group. A male from the Aztecs needed to feel important and to always have plenty of respect from his following people. When it comes to capturing captives the more he catches the more his stature and esteem increases as well!
Not only were men told to be strong warriors but they were also great hunters and gatherers. A father was responsible for putting food on the table and keeping order in his family as well as holding it all together! However, Aztec men spent most of their time at war but when they were not, they were usually farming or doing some crafts work For example, making weapons! Men were also known for disciplining their children with various methods like stabbing with a spike to tying them hands and feet, to a wet mat!
An Aztec man did not always have to become a warrior though. A man could become a farmer, priest, or doctor, but an Aztec warrior was glorified.
